KYIV, Aug 5 – In the first half of 2024, the birth rate in Ukraine was nearly 87,700 children, while deaths were almost three times higher at 251,000, according to the Opendatabot service website.

"One newborn citizen corresponds to three deceased. This ratio is one of the key indicators of a demographic crisis. For comparison, in the pre-COVID years of 2018-2020, two deaths corresponded to one child," the service said in the report.
