BRUSSELS, April 16 – The European Commission has approved the Plan for Ukraine, proposing this assessment to the Council, which will allow the start of funding for the Ukraine Facility, the total amount of which will be up to EUR50 billion over four years, having previously allocated up to EUR1.89 billion until the start of regular payments, the press service of the European Commission reported on Monday.
"Today, the Commission has adopted a proposal for a Council Implementing Decision that assesses positively the Ukraine Plan, Ukraine's comprehensive reform and investment strategy for the next four years. This important step paves the way for regular and predictable support to Ukraine under the EU's up to EUR50 billion Ukraine Facility. Financing under the Facility will help Ukraine to keep its administration running, pay salaries and pensions, provide basic public services, and support recovery and reconstruction while it continues to defend itself against Russia's aggression," the EC said.
