KYIV, March 28 – The Ministry of Social Policy begins the process of public consultation on the draft Demographic Development Strategy until 2040.

"As a result of the war, Ukraine faced a deep demographic crisis: a significant number of citizens died, part of the population was deported or forcibly moved to the territory of the aggressor country, a large number of Ukrainians went abroad, and as a result of the war, the birth rate decreased critically. Thus, the war significantly aggravated all the negative demographic trends that were observed in our country even before the start of the full-scale invasion," the ministry's press service said in a statement.
