KYIV, Aug 2 – Since August 1, 2022, Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) has increased the volume of measuring natural gas at the Hrebenyky junction (between Ukraine and Moldova) by 1.5 times – from 3.96 to 6.12 million cubic meters per day, thus ensuring that Ukraine fulfills all the prerequisites for launching the Trans-Balkan corridor, the company said on its website on Tuesday.
"We hope that our international partners will also take reciprocal steps to launch the Trans-Balkan route as soon as possible. It will help accelerate the refusal of European countries from Russian gas, which will strengthen the energy situation in the region," Director General of GTSOU Serhiy Makogon, whose words are given on the website, said.
