KYIV, June 15 – The Global Peace Index for Ukraine in 2022 fell by 0.413, or 16%, to 2.971, showing the worst indicators among the 163 countries studied, according to the annual Global Peace Index from the international think-tank the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) released on Wednesday.
The country is now ranked 153rd globally on the index after falling 17 notches in the rankings. Ukraine's deterioration in peacefulness was driven by the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, which escalated dramatically following the invasion by Russian forces in February 2022," the document says.
In the updated index, Ukraine follows Mali, Libya and North Korea, ahead of Sudan, the Central African Republic and Somalia with Iraq.
