KYIV, Oct 20 – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the attraction of a $39 million loan from the World Bank for the construction of a new tram line from Starovokzalna Street to the Palats Sportu metro station with a stop at Vokzalna Square in Kyiv, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has reported on its website on Wednesday.
"Finally, one of the key projects for the development of passenger electric transport in Kyiv has been unblocked. It will allow extending the high-speed tram line to the city center and unloading the red metro line, including the Vokzalna metro station, which now serves as a large transit hub," Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
