KYIV, May 6 – U.S. President Joe Biden, at his upcoming meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, will defend positions of Ukraine in an ongoing conflict with Russia, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Thursday.
His comments were to dispel concerns that Biden and Putin might meet and decide the fate of Ukraine without taking the interests of Ukrainians into consideration.
"I am absolutely sure that the meeting between Biden and Putin, if held, will be held in the interests of Ukraine,” Kuleba tol Interfax-Ukraine. “Moreover, we have already received assurances from our American partners that they will not decide anything regarding Ukraine without taking into account our interests. This is what I clearly heard today from Secretary of State Antony Blinken when meeting with him."
