KYIV, June 22 – Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has presented an interactive map of the world to help Ukrainians with planning their trips abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The map that you now see on your screens is located at the classic address of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: tripadvisor.mfa.gov.ua and has two levels of information: the first is the entry regime in a foreign country for Ukrainian citizens... Green countries are countries, where everyone is allowed to enter. Yellow countries: entry to these countries is allowed with a residence permit and orange countries are countries that do not allow Ukrainians to enter them," he said at an online briefing on Monday.
The second map, presented by the minister, shows the transit mode, where green indicates countries where transit is allowed without restrictions, yellow – transit is possible under certain conditions, and burgundy – transit is prohibited.
Kuleba said that by clicking on a specific country on the transit map, one can read short basic information about the mode of air transit through this country. And at the level of the entry regime for citizens of Ukraine, one can learn about those who are denied entry, who is allowed and when the information was last updated.
"Each Ukrainian embassy that is responsible for the respective country will regularly update this information so that you have access to the latest data, and thus you can see how the situation will change and, accordingly, the travel opportunities of a person will change," Kuleba said.
He added that this map is a digital response to the COVID-19 coronavirus challenge, and the Foreign Ministry will support it as long as restrictions remain in the world due to the pandemic. Kuleba also said that the map is now running in test mode.
"First of all, I want to tell you that even if you planned a trip around the world, bought all the tickets and know how you will get from country A to country B, please, when traveling, adhere to the maximum measures of your personal safety, because coronavirus continues to rage all over the world, in different countries in different ways, but it exists and it is very important that you do not get sick, stay healthy and that your journey is safe for you," he said.
The minister also said that the interactive map was created thanks to the cooperation and support of the British Embassy in Ukraine and the UN Development Program in Ukraine. (sb/ez)
