KYIV, May 21 - Ukraine is expected to finish construction of $300-million centralized dry waste storage facility for spent nuclear fuel before the end of September, acting Energoatom President Petro Kotyn reported.
The announcement represents a 6-month delay form earlier plans, as the facility was expected to be completed by the end of March.
The delay comes as the government has introduced country-wide lockdown in early March due to the coronavirus pandemic, and has only started gradually reopening the economy on May 11, with some restrictions to continue through June.
