KYIV, Jan 14 – Ukraine seeks to rebuild its gas transmission system (GTS) for the transit capacity of around 40 billion cubic meters (bcm), Director General of Gas Transmission System operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) Serhiy Makogon has said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"Now we already have an understanding that, most likely, there will be around 40 billion [cubic meters] and we will rebuild the system for these capacities. This means that we will invest in upgrading only those compressor stations that will be used, and the rest will be gradually decommissioned. Now we are preparing a feasibility study to optimize the system," he said.
