KYIV, Dec 19 – Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko will hold talks with German officials in Berlin on Thursday and Friday to brief them on importance of US sanctions to be imposed to stop Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
"For us these sanctions are an opportunity to ensure not only transit, but also our national security to some extent, because the presence of the pipeline in our territory is a constraining factor for Russia which makes money on gas sales. We have voiced this numerous times and I will talk about this tomorrow [on December 19] with my counterpart – Foreign Minister [of Germany Heiko] Maas. I am going to Berlin to hold these talks and explain our position," he said on air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel on December 18.
