KYIV, Aug 30 – Most residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions continue considering these territories as part of Ukraine, according to Hromadske.UA, citing data from a report by the Berlin Center for East European and International Studies.
According to the results of the study, titled "Attitudes and Identities Across the Donbas Front Line: What has Changed from 2016 to 2019?" sociologists indicate that 31% of respondents living in uncontrolled territories favor autonomy within Ukraine, 27.2% – autonomy in Russia, 23.5% – the usual status of regions in Ukraine (as before the war, without autonomy) and 3% - for joining Russia without autonomy More than half of respondents (54.5%) are for reintegration into Ukraine, but with a different status. The option to restore the pre-war situation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions was chosen 3% more than in 2016.
