KYIV, July 10 – The actual inflation rate in Ukraine in June 2019 was higher than the forecast published in the Inflation Report (April 2019), according to the NBU's commentary on the inflation rate posted on the central bank's website.
According to the State Statistics Service, deflation in Ukraine in June was 0.5%, while in annual terms an inflation of 9% was recorded.
The NBU notes that deviations from the forecast significantly reduced compared with May due to the expected exhaustion of the influence of adverse supply factors. At the same time, underlying inflation was declining even somewhat faster than predicted due to the strengthening of the hryvnia exchange rate.
