KYIV, July 7 - Ukraine received the first ever shipment of U. S. crude oil on Saturday, alleviating the country’s dependence on Russian energy, officials reported.
The 75,000-mt shipment, carried by the Wisdom Venture oil tanker, arrived at the Black Sea port of Odessa, the report said.
The Bakken blend will be delivered to the Kremenchuk-based oil refinery Ukrtatnafta, the largest refinery in Ukraine, via Odessa-Kremenchuk oil pipeline, a source at the port said. The next shipment from the U.S. is expected to arrive in August, the source said.
