KYIV, June 5 – The gas transmission system operator Ukrtransgaz (UTG) has said the gas market is in the pre-default state over the negative balance appeared mainly due to the unauthorized gas pumping from the system.

The press service of the company said that in March-April 2019, the amount of negative balance, formed mainly as a result of the unauthorized pumping of gas by gas distribution network operators for their own operation costs in monetary terms amounted to UAH 2.5 billion. Of this amount owed to UTG, only UAH 0.05 billion was repaid.
