KYIV, April 15 – Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said police have solved the murder case of Ukrainian jeweler Serhiy Kyseliov. He said three suspects have been detained and that police found an arsenal of weapons and ammunition, as well as art objects, during searches. Kyseliov was shot dead in Kyiv in early March.
"Police detained three suspects in the murder of jeweler Serhiy Kyseliov. They are still investigating. In addition, several paintings were found among items seized from one of the suspects. One of them looks like a picture that was stolen from a museum in Nancy, France, last year. This is a 1915 painting by artist Paul Signac, 'The Port of La Rochelle,' worth an estimated $1.5 million. It is not yet known whether it is the original. Art expertise will be appointed," the press service of the Interior Ministry said on Monday, citing Avakov.
