KYIV, Feb 12 – The program of cooperation between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) technically provides for the possibility of directing part of IMF funds to finance the national budget, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman has said.
"Formally it is possible for the disbursements to go to the budget, and there are some particular requirements for that, there is a policy making IMF disbursements to the budget. In the first SBA of 2014 we had disbursement to the budget. We haven't discussed that in this SBA," he said at an annual investment conference organized by Dragon Capital in Kyiv on Tuesday.
