KYIV, Feb 7 – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says its cooperation program with Ukraine is aimed at achieving sustainable growth of the country's economy, raising the standard of living of its citizens, Director of the IMF Communications Department Gerry Rice said during a traditional briefing in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
"The bottom line in terms of our cooperation is to get Ukraine on the path of sustainable growth and improve people's living standards. That is the aim of cooperation. We are actively supporting Ukraine in its economic program, and in regular touch with counterparts in Ukraine," he said, responding to a journalist who said that some presidential candidates and political parties argue about the reasonability of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF.
