KYIV, Feb 6 – Ukraine's international reserves did not change in January 2019 and remained at the level of $20.82 billion in the equivalent, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to the central bank, the following factors contributed to the volume of reserves at the end of the month: government operations to service and repay public and government guaranteed debt in foreign currency totaling $883.9 million (equivalent), the National Bank's interventions in the interbank foreign exchange market (net currency purchases in January amounted to $136.1 million), as well as the revaluation of financial tools, as a result of which the cost of reserves increased by $126.3 million (equivalent).
