VILNIUS, Nov 13 – Creating an east European energy hub will allow Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania to become energy independent from Russia, said Parliamentary Speaker Andriy Parubiy.
"We've discussed joint actions in energy security ... In particular, we are talking about the idea of creating a single energy hub and combining our efforts – both combining our power plants and supplying gas, since liquefied gas that is supplied to the Baltics today and gas storage facilities that exist in Ukraine together can create a large complex ... which will allow us to fully embrace energy independence from Russia," Parubiy said at a joint press conference with the speakers of the parliaments of Poland and Lithuania in Vilnius on Tuesday.
