KYIV, Aug 15 – Most Ukrainian citizens do not support changes in the scope of powers of the president and prime minister, as well as the cancellation of the post of the president of Ukraine, according to a sociological survey conducted by the Social Monitoring Center and the Ukrainian Institute for Social Research named after Oleksandr Yaremenko.
Some 47% of respondents believe that the powers of the president of Ukraine should be left unchanged, while one in three (33%) are in favor of narrowing them. At the same time, 8% of respondents consider it expedient to expand the powers of the head of state.
