KYIV, Aug 2 - The U.S. Senate has passed a bill on the U.S. defense budget for 2019 previously supported by the House of Representatives, which authorizes the allocation of $250 million to the U.S. Department of Defense for the provision of security assistance to Ukraine, including $50 million to be directed for lethal weapons, Ukraine's Embassy in the United States reported.
"The document includes the main clauses of the draft Ukraine Cybersecurity Cooperation Act, which, in particular, provides assistance to Ukraine in strengthening the possibilities of protection from cyberattacks, ensuring the security of government computer networks, reducing dependence on Russian information and communication technologies, facilitating participation in information exchange programs," reads a report posted on the embassy's page on Facebook early on Thursday.
