KYIV, July 17 - The United States will soon give Ukraine $100 million to strengthen its defense capability, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has said.

"After the adoption of the national security law [in Ukraine], after analyzing the reform of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the U.S. defense secretary said that in the near future the U.S. will help Ukraine strengthen the defense capability of the Ukrainian army - for delivering weapons, technology and equipment for $100 million," he said on the ICTV television channel late on Monday, while speaking about the NATO summit.
