KYIV, May 16 – The employment rate in Luhansk and Donetsk region fell by 5-10%, and the unemployment rate grew by 5-7% from 2013 through 2017, according to a study of the unemployment rate in eastern part of Ukraine entitled "Four years in the war. The crisis of the employment at Donbas."
"Trends seen in Ukraine in the past years show the crisis of the employment in all regions. However, in Donbas, in particular, towns located near the front line, this crisis is complicated by hostilities, outflow of specialists due to the war and on the other hand by the large number of internally displaced persons (IDPs)," Expert of nongovernmental organization (NGO) Foundation.101 Halyna Yanchenko said, presenting the study in Kyiv on Tuesday.
