KYIV, March 3 – Ukraine's integrated power grids operated smoothly during the shortage of natural gas on Friday and Saturday, the national energy company Ukrenergo said.
"Despite the calendar spring, these days Ukraine's integrated power grids has seen a second winter peak of consumption (about 23.5 GW), which is almost the same as the previously recorded annual maximum (23.8 GW). The situation is completely under control ... The situation connected with a 20% reduction in gas pressure in Ukraine's gas transport system has not affected the stability of the Ukrainian energy system," it said.
