KYIV, March 2 – President Petro Poroshenko has welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to prolong sanctions against Russia over Ukraine.
"A clear message to the aggressor that the restrictive measures will be staying in force until the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored," Poroshenko said in a Facebook post. "Neither propaganda, nor rattling arms, nor energy blackmailing would undermine the pro-Ukrainian coalition!"
Trump on Friday announced that the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13660 against Russia over Ukraine will be prolonged for another year.
