KYIV, March 1 - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said there is growing optimism for raising $2 billion this year within the framework of the program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"Of course, we are optimistic about the negotiation process, especially since the last technical mission, which visited Kyiv two weeks ago, underscored the positive progress. In addition, today we see that the Rada adopted the law on the Anti-Corruption Court at the first reading, which was one of the requirements for the next tranche. Therefore, we do not have hope, but optimistic calculations for receiving funds this year remain," said acting head of the NBU Yakov Smolii during a monetary briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
