KYIV, Dec 6 - Ukrenergo has connected Kyivska, Seredniodniprovska (formerly Dniprodzerzhynska), Dniprovska and Kakhovka hydroelectric power plants (HPP) to the system of automatic regulation of frequency and power control with a range of 480 MW, the company's press service has reported.

According to its data, this became possible after the preparation and holding by Ukrenergo and Ukrhydroenergo of successful tests of these HPPs. Connecting the HPPs to the automatic control system significantly increased the reliability of the power system and its flexibility. In addition, in case of an abnormal situation, for example, the loss of some generating capacity, it will be quickly eliminated automatically, without involving dispatching personnel and disconnecting consumers.
