KYIV, Nov 8 - Radio show ratings significantly increased over the first year of the introduction of the Ukrainian language quotas on radio and television, Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko.
The share of Ukrainian-language songs on the radio increased from 25% to 30% on November 8.
"However, radio stations exceed this quota now. On average in the country the share of songs in the Ukrainian language on radio stations is 32%. It is very gratifying that the quota is fulfilled regardless of the region. This shows that the norms laid down in the law are absolutely natural. It is good for a country when Ukrainian listeners can hear songs in Ukrainian," Kyrylenko said.
