KYIV, Nov 8 – The National Bank of Ukraine on Tuesday gave green light for a business group owned by former Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Tyhypko to acquire 99.9% of in VS Bank from Sberbank of Russia.
Ukraine in March imposed 12-month sanctions on a number of Russian business entities operating in the country, including Sberbank, VS Bank, Prominvestbank, VTB Bank and BM Bank.
Sberbank since then has been holding negotiations with potential buyers of the assets before exiting the Ukrainian market.
