KYIV, Oct 13 – Freight owners using services of Ukrainian seaports would redirect freight flows due to the construction of Kerch Bridge and temporary closure of the Kerch Strain to other Ukrainian ports, Head of Ukrainian Sea Port Authority Raivis Veckagans has said.
"We see in figures that we have a 97% fall in Berdiansk. This situation is really linked to the Kerch Bridge and the decision of freight owners to redirect freight flows to other ports. This decision is based on the fact that it is impossible to predict when the strait is closed… Now information appeared that the passing the strait will be closed for three days. Of course, this makes everyone alert. There are delivery schedules. We see the redirection of flows to Mykolaiv port and Big Odesa ports," he said at a press tour devoted to dredging works in the Yuzhny seaport.
