KYIV, Sept 1 - Foreigners traveling to Ukraine will be required to submit their fingerprints, but not to show biometric passports, as part of measures tightening border controls under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) resolution which came into effect, the head of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service said.
"A foreigner entering Ukraine must submit his fingerprints. This is, first of all, about our country's security, and secondly, this is for his personal safety... So we are only talking about foreigners giving us their biometrics for our use later, and for that they are not obligated to have biometric or other types of passport," Oleh Slobodin told 112 Ukraine television channel on Friday.
