MOSCOW, April 14 – Tatneft announced it filed actions in the Moscow Arbitration Court and the High Court of Justice in London on April 13 to enforce an arbitration ruling of July 29, 2014 ordering Ukraine to pay the Russian oil company $144 million.
"Tatneft's latest enforcement actions were filed today in the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, Commercial Court in London and the Moscow Arbitration Court. The $144 million arbitral award ($112 million, plus interest to date) arose out of Ukraine's breach of the Russia-Ukraine Bilateral Investment Treaty, and deprivation of Tatneft of rights as a shareholder in the Kremenchuk Oil Refinery, the largest in Ukraine," Tatneft said.
