KIEV, Oct. 13 - Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroysman on Thursday ordered local authorities throughout Ukraine to start centralized heating days earlier than planned in reaction to a spell of cold weather.
The move will accelerate the country’s consumption of natural gas to 100 million cubic meters/day from 74.4 million cu m/d with all import capacity to be used to meet growing demand.
“I don’t want to wait for 14 days,” Hroysman said during a teleconference with regional leaders and officials. “I think you can start supplying heat to all houses and residential buildings within five days.”
