KIEV, July 20 – Saudi Arabia is looking at the possibility of buying NATO-standard high-precision anti-tank weapons developed by the state design bureau Luch based in Kiev.
Interfax-Ukraine has learned from a source in the defense sector that Saudi officials are interested in buying the armored personnel vehicle (BTR) VAB Mark 3, which is equipped with the anti-tank missile Falarick, designed by Luch. The source told Interfax-Ukraine that Saudi officials intend to buy 100 BTRs (VAB Mark 3), which were earlier planned to be sold to the armed forces of Lebanon. The Belgium firm CMI (Cockerill Maintenance & Ingenierie) will equip the armor with the Falarick missiles. CMI is a European inventor and producer of cannons and turrets for military vehicles produced by leading weapons manufacturers.
