WASHINGTON, May 18 - The Nord Stream 2 is not a commercial project, and its goal may be putting pressure on Ukraine from the Russian side, U.S. Department of State Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein said.
"Ukraine makes close to two, if not more than two, billion dollars in revenues from transit fees. Moving it away for no real reason seems to be an application of pressure on Ukraine at a time when their economic recovery is anemic and I don't see how they would survive that," Hochstein said in an interview with Interfax.
