MOSCOW, May 20 – The decision made by Parliament on foreign debt is aimed at provoking a default in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"As to the specific reaction to the Verkhovna Rada's decision, it's sad. Some people believe that this step, which indicates not even the unavoidability of a default, but the fact that this step aims to provoke a default to make it possible to later buy all remaining property there at low prices in a situation when quotations fall to the minimum," Lavrov said in the Federation Council on Wednesday.
"We will not take any legal action now. We have dates for the repayment of the $3 billion that was provided by buying Ukrainian state bonds," the minister said.
