KIEV, April 15 – Effective April 14, Ukraine halved the special tax on new imported passenger cars with 1-1.5-liter gasoline engines to 2.15%, and those with 1.5-2.2-liter gasoline engines to 4.32%.
Ukraine's interagency commission on international trade originally introduced the tax on imports of new passenger cars with 1-1.5-liter gasoline engines at 6.46%, and with 1.5-2.2-liter gasoline engines at 12.95%, irrespective of the country of origin and export on March 14, 2013. The tax was introduced after an investigation was initiated by Ukrainian car manufacturers.
