KIEV, Oct. 20 – Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed on a common stand at gas talks with Russia which are scheduled for Tuesday, Naftogaz Ukrayiny reported.
The agreement was reached at a meeting in Kiev on Monday, the state-owned company said.
"Representatives of the EC and Ukraine have agreed that the talks should result in an interim agreement that will guarantee gas supplies to Ukraine and the stability of [gas] transit shipments to the EU this winter. This agreement should contain clear-cut guarantees concerning both the supply by Gazprom of agreed amounts of gas to Ukraine and payment by Naftogaz for delivered gas," the press service said.
