KIEV, Sept. 17 – ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) is to invest over $70 million in building a pulverized coal injection complex (PCI) for the largest furnace in Europe – blast furnace nine, which will allow removing consumption of natural gas during the production of cast iron, and cut coke consumption.
According to the company, the project foresees the construction of a coal acceptance, storage and transportation system.
