KIEV, Sept. 3 - Ukraine, facing coal shortages as it fights pro-Russian separatists, will import 1 million metric tons of coal from South Africa, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said Wednesday.

“The government signed an agreement for the supplies of 1 million mt of coal from South Africa,” Yatseniuk told government ministers at a meeting. “The first ship is being loaded.”
