KIEV, Sept. 3 - Ukraine said it will cut power supplies to Crimea, its Black Sea peninsula occupied and annexed by Russia in March, amid looming power shortages in the mainland.
The energy and coal industry ministry issued an order to UkrInterEnergo, state-owned power supply company, to introduce power supply restrictions to the peninsula on Wednesday.
The power supplies will be restricted to 300 MW during the morning and evening peaks of power consumption, the company said. During the daytime power supplies will be restricted to 500 MW and during the nighttime to 600 MW, the company said.
