KIEV, Aug. 12 - At least 21 Ukrainian coal miners were injured after an explosion of methane gas ripped through a coal mine in the Donetsk region on Tuesday, the State Service for Mining Supervision and Industrial Safety reported.

The explosion occurred around 10:30 a.m. local time Tuesday about 815 meters deep inside the Pokrovska coalmine. There are no signs of combustion after the explosion, the state service said.
