KIEV, July 7 – Warfare in the east of Ukraine in May-June caused material damage of around UAH 1.2 billion to railway track enterprises due to the destruction of bridges and tracks, the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) reported.

Ukrzaliznytsia said that over 200 kilometers of tracks could have been repaired using the funds.

The major damage was caused by explosions at railway bridges: across Siversky Donets River of the Rubizhna-Nasvitevych section, a bridge of the Mashchormet-Shpychkine section, bridges across the Siversky Donets River of the Yampil-Siversk section and an overbridge of the Orikhivska-Mala Tokmachka section.
