KIEV, Jan. 15 – Confrontation seems likely in Parliament on Thursday after opposition lawmakers pledged to disrupt the 2014 budget vote unless President Viktor Yanukovych sacks key law enforcement officials responsible for the crackdown on protesters.
Yanukovych’s loyalists in Parliament on Thursday will try to approve the budget draft, which has been already delayed by almost two months.
The failure to approve the budget will be a serious problem for the government as it may curtail investments and slow down economic growth in 2014.
