KIEV, Dec. 12 – The Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister on Thursday denied Russian media reports that Ukraine has huge unpaid debts for natural gas supplies to Russia.
Eduard Stavytskiy said that the parties are still holding negotiations to define the exact debt figure for gas supplies in October.
"Talk of huge unpaid debts of Naftogaz Ukrayiny, and a gas war with Russia, is not true and they are mainly the PR of so-called 'specialists' of the gas sector who remind the public of their existence in the light of problems that allegedly exist in various vitally important economic sectors," Stavytskiy said.
