KIEV, Nov. 21 - Ukraine imported 4.389 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia and Europe in September, paying a total of $1.875 billion, the State Statistics Service said.

Most of the imports came from Russia - 4.046 billion cubic meters worth $1.738 billion, with 343.31 million cu m coming from Europe (Germany, Hungary an Austria) for $136.315 million.

Ukraine paid an average of $429.7 per thousand cu m for the gas from Russia, $30.4 more than it paid in August; and $397.1 on average for gas from Europe, including $388.6 from Germany, $400.3 from Hungary and $400.9 from Austria.
