KIEV, Oct. 23 - Ukraine will begin imports of European natural gas via Slovakia before the end of the year, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said Wednesday.

Ukraine originally planned to begin such imports in June, but talks with Slovakia had repeatedly failed forcing Kiev earlier this month to seek assistance from Brussels in opening the route.
