KIEV, Sept. 3 – Stirol, one of the biggest producers of mineral fertilizers in Ukraine, has halted production as of September 1 because of the state of the world market, a company statement says.
"Due to the situation that has developed on world markets, Stirol has for the time being ceased the production of urea, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, and CAC [carbamide-ammoniac compound]. Work continues at our enterprise only on organic production - the plant for the production of polystyrols," company chief Serhiy Pavliuchuk is quoted as saying.
