KIEV, Sept. 2 – Ukraine's law enforcement agencies are preparing for tough certification, President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"All law enforcement agencies are currently preparing for certification. The approach will be very tough to the certification of people who currently work in law enforcement agencies. Requirements will also be tough for those who come to work," he said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels broadcast on the 1+1 TV Channel.

In general, speaking about the effect of the Criminal Procedure Code, Yanukovych stressed the importance of bringing the current legislation into line with the code.
